Exploratory probing reported for newly patched Oracle E-Business Suite flaw CVE-2026-101767

Source: Badtech.org

Threat actors began probing CVE-2026-101767 on October 27, according to BleepingComputer, SecurityWeek, The Hacker News, and pwn.watch, shortly after Oracle reportedly patched the flaw in its October 2026 Critical Patch Update released October 20. The reporting describes exploratory activity rather than confirmed victim compromise.

The issue affects Oracle E-Business Suite, an enterprise application suite, in its Application Object Library and Thin Client Framework servlet. BleepingComputer, SecurityWeek, The Hacker News, and pwn.watch describe it as an unauthenticated SQL injection that can be chained to remote code execution. SecurityWeek, The Hacker News, and pwn.watch report potential impact including SQL execution with APPS database privileges, operating-system command execution as the EBS application account, and access to application data.

Operationally, internet-facing Oracle E-Business Suite deployments warrant exposure review and patch verification because the reported attack path requires no authentication. If patching cannot be completed immediately, The Hacker News and pwn.watch report interim measures including restricting access to the EBS web tier and removing /OA_HTML/AppsTCFServer from the URL firewall allowlist, with validation against Oracle guidance before use.
